Hello Reebs, This question is from Joe.

The area our European ancestors lived in at the time France
was persecuting the Huguenots ( Protestants), this area
was not a part of France. However, during this period,
France invaded this area and tried to force the protestants
to become Catholics.

My question is this, would our ancestors have been referred
to as "Huguenots" or did this name apply only to protestants
living in France?
