It is my understanding, based on John Reeb's several earlier notes and
explanations (John, feel free to correct me if i am wrong), that the Camp
County Texas Israel Rape was the son of John Rape, not Peter. He married
sarah Laney, daughter of John Laney. While the Funderburk book on Laney
attaches her to the Titus Laney line, that is not correct. As I recall,
John has some documentation that is at odds with the placement shown in the
Fuderburk book. I believe john has concluded that Israel MAY have been a
grandson to Peter, or leaves open the possibility that there were two Israel

Rapes, or that all references to Israel Rape with varying middle
names/initials may refer to the same individual. In any case, my trail back

thru the Laneys grows cold at John Laney, father of the Sarah married to
Israel Rape. Both are buried in Pittsburg, TX, along with at least one
Laney brother. My purpose is not to dispare the Laney book, but to respond
to your question.
