Looking back at what I just wrote I certainly seem to have made a couple of mistakes. Or perhaps I do not have the correct and complete date of birth of your Jacob Adam Rape. I show a Jacob Adam Rape with wife Ella Buehler and his date of birth as July 1863. Probably I have that in correct. Was your father Floyd Jacob?

I will try to explain it as I have it but I am not certain that I have it correct either. Also, I wish I could fill in a few more complete dates and names and a few other details. Espiecially I need more on your father and his family.
Adam Rape and Elizabeth Wagner Rape were parents of at least 7 children including both George Washington Rape and Jacob Adam Rape.Adam was son of Heinrich Reeb, son of Theobald and Sophia Catharina Goehring Reeb. So therefore: Christian and Heinrich Reeb aka Rape were brothers.
Eli Jacob and Adam were 1st cousins.
Andrew was 2nd cousin to George Washington and Jacob Adam.
Andrew Wesley Rape was son of Eli Jacob Rape and Mary A, Buehler and Eli Jacob was son of Christian Rape aka Reeb and Sarah Staudt. Christian was son of Johann Theobald Reeb and Sophia Catharina Goehring.
It gets kind of difficult to prepare this from the individual records on my genealogy computer as I am required to shift back and fort from family to family unless I prepare a relationship chart first. So I hope I did not write it out in a way to create confusion. Later if you want I can either make out some more printouts for you or if you wish I can request someone who has one of the CDs I recently sent out to forward one to you. If I understand one can read the data on your CD readers so it should be helpful to you in better understanding the family organization etc. But feel free to let me know any time you run into confusion etc. or to let me know if you see errors in my data.

After reading about Andrew Rape in the obituary you posted, I was quite
intrigued by the names of his parents. As you no doubt know my paternal
grandparents have these same names. My grandfather was Jacob Adam Rape
(b. 4 May 1862; d. March 1946) and his wife was Amelia Buehler (b. 7
June 1869; d. 1934). I am quite unsure of my grandmothers Christian
name; I have seen references to her as Ella, Ellen and Ellie as well as
Amelia. I have practically no information about her or her parents.
Judging from Andrew's birth date, I would assume that he would have been
in my own grandparents generation and hence his parents would most
likely have been one generation older than my grandparents. Still, since
the surnames are the same, I was just curious to know if these folks
were related in some way. Do you think this is merely a naming
coincidence; I assume that these names were quite common in those days.
I am one of the many people who find you to be a blessing in their
lives. Thanks for all you do!
