Hello Robert
My mother was a GREENWOOD before she married, but all her ancestors
originated in Heptonstall / Hebden Bridge area of West Yorkshire. I have
looked at the 1851 census for this area and there are no BINGHAMs listed. I
don't have any information on marriages between GREENWOODs and BINGHAMs.
Do you have the UK 1851 2% Census extract? There are only 49 BINGHAMs listed
there, bearing in mind that this is only a 2% sample of the 1851 census. 10
of these BINGHAMs were born in Nottinghamshire:
Benjamin aged 48, Agricultural Labourer, born at Misterton, Notts, census
place Hodsock, Notts.
Benjamin aged 6 months, born at Hodstock, Notts, census place Hodsock,
Notts.
Edwin aged 2, born Nottinghamshire, census place Kentish Town, Middlesex.
Elizabeth aged 41, born at Gringley, Notts, census place Hodsock Notts.
Jane E. aged 10, scholar, born at Misterton, Notts, census place Hodsock,
Notts.
Maria aged 3, born at Misterton, Notts, census place Hodsock, Notts
Solomon aged 30, Engine Fitter?, born at Nottingham, census place Kentish
Town, Middlesex.
Thomas aged 36, Farm Baliff, born at Spalford, Notts, census place Manton,
Lincolnshire.
William aged 5, scholar, born Nottinghamshire, census place Kentish Town,
Middlesex.
William aged 8, scholar, born at Misterton, Notts, census place Hodsock,
Notts.
Best Regards
