Hi!
Can anyone give a little more information re AA Greenwood?. My
understanding is that there are two "groups" of Greenwoods. One from
Heptonstall Yorkshire and one from Haddenham. I am interested in the
Yorkshire lot but so far have very little information. I also understand
that in this area Greenwood was a very common name.
I have a Richard Greenwood,weaver, and Betty Uttley,widow, (nee
Greenwood) married 16 Oct 1831 in Halifax Yorkshire.
1841 Census shows them living at Burnt Edge Stansfield with children
Hannah - 8; Barbar?(last letter illegible) - 5 and James - 2 (my
husband's ancestor). Richard and Betty's ages were both 34 so puts
their birth abt 1806.
By 1851 they had moved but I am still trying to find out where to.
Not too many seem to have come to Sydney.
Any help appreciated and happy researching to you all.

Sorry about that. I get so excited when I find something new and its all
begining to snowball. I'm finding so much information these days. My line
goes from my great grandfather Thomas Franklin Greenwood, b. 1897 in Mclennon
co. > John Franklin Greenwood, b. 1866 in Grimes co. > Japheth Greenwood.
After that its all been uncertain. I've been told John Greenwood> Henry
Baily Greenwood> Caleb Greenwood. If so I have all the info about Nancy
Jarvice back to the early 1200's and all the royalty lines. I don't know much
about the Bailys or Greenwoods before that. I still can't prove Japheth is
John's son so I didn't want to work too hard on the others till I did. If
this all makes any sense I'm glad I am on my way out the door to work. I hope
you can tell me more. Thanks Mindy
