William was the son of James Philip and Sophia (Stewart) Gose. James Philip
Gose died in The Civil War and Sophia remarried Thompson Frisby in Bath
County, KY. They move to Indiana in the 1860s and can be found in Indiana
in the 1870 US Census. James Philip was a son of Henry Gose, son of John
Gose, son of Stephen Gose, the immigrant.
