Isn't that what she did? According to you: "You can also leave a message under his/her surname on the message board of that family"

Seems like you don't want people to post queries on *your * surname boards if they know the person's locality.

The first place many people look are surname boards. There is no good reason to move a post from a surname board to a locality. A surname board is a natural gathering place for people sharing a surname.
