Just a comment about Goings in England....a number of years ago, I visited
Canterbury Cathedral (in South of England -Susex?) In the Cathedral, one of
the large stones that makes up the wall was ingraved ( in an unprofessional
way - almost like graffiti) in large letters, but obviously very old :
I Goings
1749
Now...this could have been J Goings but I don't think so.
This was about 20 years ago...and since that time I have told many people
about it and asked that anyone visiting Canterbury look for it and ask a
guide...."what's the deal?" Seems like there may have been other names
engraved in stones in the wall also but maybe I'm wrong on that.
This is a puzzle that I've thought about but can't find an answer....or
anyone else who has ever seen it. I'ts not a dream, I have the picture!!!
I've even posted to a Canterbury list. But why am I the only one who has
ever seen it.
As I recall this engraving was on the bottom area of the cathedral and right
next to a shrine...six to 10 feet from the floor.
