My great-grandfather Robert L. Bishop had a sister, Mary, who married Covil G. Gillett in Alabama. (The "e" was added later to the name.) They had several children -- Edward born about 1852 in AL, Morillo b. 1852 who may have been a twin, Josephine born about 1856, Leona, Frank. Maybe this Edward was the same as your Edward. The Frank Gillette family seems to have lived in Erath County, TX where an uncle, William C. Bishop, was a rancher and stockman.
