Looking for Bryan Gillan born somewhere in Canada c 1820. Married Mary
MURPHY somewhere in Canada (either Quebec or Ontario) c 1850.
>
Three children of the marriage, all born in Grantham Twp., Ontario,
Matthew b. 1852; James b. 1855; Margaret b. 1858. All children were
baptized at St. Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral, St. Catharines,
Ontario.
>
Bryan remains my brick wall. The only evidence I have that he was born
in Canada is from the 1920 U.S. Census -- information given by his
daughter (my grandmother) Margaret.
>
In 1861 Ontario census, Mary is listed as widow. Thus Bryan died
sometime between 1858 and 1861, but no proof of death or burial.
>
Another puzzle. I have found the name listed as KILLEN in church records
and on census, but GILLAN on other census and in newspaper reports.

Any help or suggestions?
