You do not indicate just where in Oklahoma the 1901 homestead was located. There were Getmans from Herkimer Co, NY, in Oklahoma before 1880, and James Lewis Getman from MN, IA & NB from 1870 to Lincoln Co, OK in 1900. James Lewis had a son, Alfred Ralph Getman b 1877, md c 1900, living in Lincoln Co in 1900. In 1920 he was listed as "All R. Getman"' ps the enumerator's way of writing "Alf R." for us to puzzle over and wonder what he meant.
The blueprints sound interesting. We certainly would like to keep track of this for the Getman family archives.
As for the Okies, I don't think the term became popular until the Joads migrated to California in Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath. THat was even before Merle Haggard sang for us "I'd rather be an Okie from Muscogee."
