I know that many of the old researchers (not old in age <smile>) know about
the Library of Virginia site but as long as I have been using the site -- I
never realized that you could look at the actual land deeds that they have on
the site -- can download them -- and print them. I did a check for Holtzclaw
and found 70 something for that surname. They are arranged with the latest
date first and the earliest date last so I usually start at the end. It tells
you how many records that they found and then gives you the opportunity to go
to whatever number that you want. If you get a record with a URL at the top,
then you can see the actual deed. Hmmm, the Holtzclaw listing even has a
picture of an Edna Holtzclaw. Anyway, if you are not familiar with this site,
have fun. I spend lots of time visiting here. I search by surname and also by
areas to see who came into the same area as my family as the same time. I did
one for Robinson River and -- no surprize -- there were the Scheible,
Blankenbuhlers, Tomers, Clores etc etc etc.
