TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Elvin Wambolt, 89, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at the
Residency in Scottsbluff.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Berean
Church in Torrington with Pastor John Wilhelm officiating. Burial will follow
in the Valley View Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the Residency Care Center.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and the casket
will be open briefly prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are
under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send
condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Elvin was born May 2, 1922 in Alliance, the son of Andrew and Mary (Rehn)
Wambolt. His family moved to the Yoder, Wyo. area where he received his
education and graduated Yoder High School in 1940. He married Anna Duff Dec.
27, 1944 and they lived in Morrill for fifteen years before moving to the
Huntley, Wyo. area where they farmed until he retired.
Elvin enjoyed bowling, farming, hunting and fishing. He and Anna traveled
several years with friends to many places. He sang for weddings and funerals
and taught himself to play the harmonica and organ. He could speak Spanish and
German fluently.
Survivors include his son, Dennis Wambolt and his wife Cindy of Torrington,
Wyo.; daughters, Terri Burger of Bryan, Texas and Pattie Wood and her husband
Craig of Monument, Colo.; grandchildren, Andrew, Shanel, Adam, and Mason
Wambolt, Kevin Wood, Philip Burger, Rebecca Morrison; and great-grandchildren,
Isabella Gail, Jacob Elvin, and Charlotta Grace.
Preceding Elvin in death were his parents; wife, Anna; brothers, Edward and
Leo; and sisters, Viola Helzer, Darlene Yates, and Elenora Fabricius.
