Joseph Deckert, 77, of 611 N. 8th street, passed away at St. Nicholas Hospital Thursday afternoon following a two weeks illness.
He was born on Dec. 24, 1875 in Enders, Russia, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Deckert. He attended schools in Russia and in 1896 was married there to Miss Marie Deckert.
The family came to America in 1909, direct to Sheboygan. He was employed at Northern R-Way) Furniture company for many years. Mr. Deckert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Helen Giles of Sheboygan; one sone, Adam, of Green Bay; 9 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
His wife preceded him in death in 1945.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m., Saturday, at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Karl Schulz will officiate and burial will be made in the family lot in the Lutheran cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from this evening until the hour of services.
