John Fink Jr., 98, of Lovell died on July 6, 2009, of natural causes.
John was born March 8, 1911, in Unterwalden, Russia. He was baptized into
the Christian faith and became a naturalized American citizen in 1938.
He married Dorothea Miller on Jan. 29, 1933 and was blessed with nine
children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Emilia Fink; brothers,
Gottlieb, Sol, Daniel and Carl; son Daniel "Helmuth"; daughters Louise
Shawley and Linda Sachau; daughter-in-law Kandida Fink; son-in-laws Jack
Shawley and Harvey Sachau; three grandsons and three great-grandsons.
Survivors include four sons, Edwin (Marie) of Casper, Albert (LeRoyce) of
Denver, Paul (Mary Ann) of Shoshoni and Gottlieb "Butch" of Lovell; two
daughters, Hermina (Harland) Hess of Gillette and Lillian (Richard)
Hettinger of Lovell; three brothers, Emil and Willie of Lovell and Alfred of
Powell; two sisters, Marie Doerr of Puyallup, Wash., and Bertha Gernant of
Billings; 30 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great
grandchildren.
John lived all of his life in the Lovell area and was a member of St. John's
Lutheran Church. He worked 55 campaigns at the Lovell Sugar factory.
Viewing/visitation was held at Haskell Funeral Home on July 8 from 6-8 p.m.
Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on July 9, 2009, at 1
p.m. with Pastor Chris Brandt officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell
Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Hour Ministry or to a memorial of
your choice.
