Bill was a long-time member of the Oregon Chapter of AHSGR. His family lived in Northeast Portland -- the home of a large community of GR's from the turn of the 20th century.

William Howard Burbach passed away on August 8, 2008. He was born on February 11, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. He grew up in NE Portland and graduated from Jefferson High School. Then he served in the Army in Europe during WWII.



While attending Reed College he met & married Constance Southworth. They moved to Milwaukie to raise their children. Bill worked most of his career at PakWell Paper Products. For decades he actively participated in the local chapter of the American Historical society of Germans from Russia. He & his wife Connie also enjoyed active membership in the North Clackamas Arts Guild.



William is survived by his children, Elizabeth Jean, William Jr., James, and Curt, plus 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His remains will be inurned at Willamette National Cemetery following cremation & family service. Remembrances may be directed to Meals on Wheels at the Milwaukie Center or the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia.
