Hallo List:

My thanks to those who responded to my request for help. I see that I'm going to have to purchase a better German dictionary.

After comparing all of the responses I have decided that "2 Stück Geltvieh" translates to "two head of gelded cattle" or in better english...a couple of Steers. There are other possibilities but given the context of the phrase I am led to the "Steers" explanation.
