Hallo List:

I have come across a phrase which baffles me:

It is in the context of a GR enumerating his possessions, 1 cows, 2 horses, "2 Stück Geltvieh," and 12 sheep.

To me that looks like two pieces of valuable or valued livestock...which doesn't make a great deal of sense. Livestock doesn't come in pieces but pairs or yokes of oxen etc. If anyone has a clue please buzz me.
