A number of years ago I purchased and donated to the AHSGR Library an
original 1919 Russian newspaper called "Die Wacht" written in German and intended
for the Volga German population of Saratov region as an organ of the Communist
Party. It is a first edition and was supposedly microfilmed by the AHSGR
library.
I had hoped by now someone would have translated and reported on it in our
Journal. It may contain some names and village data that would interest
genealogists and of course historians would enjoy it too. Maybe it is only filled
with communist news and concepts for instructive purposes? I don't know as I
couldn't read it. Is this something somebody on the listserv might be
interested in pursuing?
