To everyone, who responded to my message about the Germans from the North
Caucasus. I want to clear up some points. I live in Vladikavkaz that had
been the center of the Terskaya Region up to 1917. Besides theTerskaya
(Oblast) Region (Terek district)there were Dagestan, the Cuban Region and
theStavropoulos province (a part of today Dagestan and the Stavropoulos
province were originally a territory of the Terek Region). The documents
concerning the Germans of the Terek Region are kept in Vladikavkaz. The
documents as well as the church records of the Stavropoulos province are in
Stavropoulos. The documents of the former Cuban province are in Krasnodar
now. Thats why if your relatives didnt live in the Terek Region I cant
help you. There was Michaelsdorf not far from Vladikavkaz. In the nearest
time I am starting the search of documents in the archives aiming to write
the history of this settlement. I will be glad to any information from the
descendants of those who lived in Michaelsdorf.
Best regards,
Marina.
