Marie Buchholz

Marie T. Buchholz, 93, of Thornton died Monday, Jan. 30, at the Hospice of
St. John in Lakewood.

She was born Jan. 22, 1913, in St. Mary's, Kan., to George and Elizabeth
(Seidle) Sigg.

On Oct. 25, 1932, she married Carl Buchholz in South Roggen.

Mrs. Buchholz attended schools in South Roggen and at St. Claire's. She
spent the majority of her working years helping to operate the family farm
in Roggen.

A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roggen, Mrs. Buchholz was a
founding member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She helped to establish the
Sacred Heart Elementary School in 1943.

She loved to garden and sew, especially quilts. She thoroughly loved to take
care of all of her grandkids. In fact, her life was based around teaching
her kids and making their lives better. She was very generous and giving of
her life and time.

Survivors are three daughters and their husbands, Teresa and Vern Beilman of
Wichita, Kan., Rosemary and Mike Bronder of Thornton, and Mary and Bob
Carswell of Broomfield; two sisters, Susan Linnebur of Byers and Sister
Bernetta Sigg of Wichita; a brother, Gerald Sigg of Roggen; 23 grandchildren
and numerous great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday and Mass of Christian Burial will be at
10 a.m., both at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Roggen. Interment will be
in Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton.

Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
