How may a person obtain information which probably is in one of these books?
Thanks, Suzanne

Newsflash:

the director Elizabeth Erina re-sent me an old e-mail letter which she
sent me on 22nd November, but which didn't arrive. Today another copy
came.
In brief :

Engels Archives wishes to inform us that up to 22nd Nov.2002 it has
restored 12 projects (jobs)
from the Family Lists *, Books about Births & Christenings for the
villages of :

- Marientahl (Tonkoshurovka)
- Preus (Krasnopole)
- Balzer (Golyi Karamysh)
- Kamenka
- NiederMonjou (Bobkovka)

* Family Lists are the Village Administration Lists of all data, which
was kept inbetween
the main census taking, and is compiled in family units i.e. households,
]including comments if the man had completed his military service.
In my opinion a far better/efficient genealogy tool that Church Books
(vera)

Mrs Erina also thanks me for the CD of the 600 photos of the GR villages
on the Volga,
which Gary Martens kindly compiled and sent over to Viktor Goloubinov,
who then distributed them to interested parties, eg also to the Saratov
Archives and Goethe Institute and to 2 Saratov historians who deals in
part with GR architecture and merchant-millers.

She also thinks that the local Engels Museum would also like to have a
copy.

All the best
