The recipes for ButterGlace or Butter balls as they are now commonly called
and for Schnitz suppe (dried fruit) soup and Grebel can be found in the
AHSGR cookbook "Kuche Kochen' available from AHSGR at
http://ahsgr.org/books.htm

Schnitz suppe and grebel was a traditional Good Friday meal in the Weld
county town of Windsor, CO. It was not one of my favorites but the
butterballs in noodle soup still is. Old timers used to call schnitz soup
"Sneak up and grab it" soup. I heard talk about this in the halls of our
recent convention in Des Moines.
