: Alex Schmidt, 84, of Greeley died Monday, April 8, at the Life Care
: He was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Adolph and Mary
: Schmidt. In Dec. 19, 1947, he married Virginia Hood in Berkeley, Calif.
: Schmidt was reared and educated in the Scottsbluff area and moved to the
: Greeley area as a young man. He served in the Army during World War II in
: the Far Eastern Theater. After his discharge, he was a painting contractor
: before moving to Colorado, where he farmed in the Wiggins and Greeley
: After he retired, he worked for the Great Western Sugar Co. Mr. Schmidt
: a member of the First Covenant Church of Greeley. He enjoyed time with
: family and dallied in photography. Survivors are his wife, Virginia; four
: daughters, Sandra Seidler of Phoenix, and Sharon Holmes, Marlene Waters
: Alison Storck, all of Greeley; two sisters, Rose Nilson of Northglenn and
: Esther Feuerstein of Greeley; a brother, Harold Schmidt of Greeley; three
: granddaughters and three grandsons. A sister, Leah Weibert, and two
: brothers, Herman Schmidt and Albert Schmidt, are deceased. Memorial
: will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Adamson Memorial West Chapel. Cremation. In
: of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Disease
: Association, in care of Adamson Memorial West Chapel, 2000 47th Ave.,
: Greeley, CO 80634.
