Your ignorance is so abysmal that one wonders how you could do any serious
family history...

AIDS is transmitted by sexually active individuals with multiple partners.
In most parts of the world it is widely transmitted by truck drivers and by
various kinds of prostitutes and by numerous others. Today's New York
Times on AIDS in India and Asia might be something you could find without
going all the way to the library... It had its start in the United States
in the homosexual community, moved rapidly to the drug community, and has
spread broadly.. just as broadly as multiple partner sex, to the community
overall -- which is broadly indeed. All over the world, men bring it home
to their wives.. The blood supply has been another route, which is now
nearly clear in the US and Europe, but not in Africa, where needles are
reused in clinics and the like.

It is an enormous human tragedy equivalent to the spread of Syphilis in
the 16th and 17th century -- which, among other things, closed down the
heterosexual bath-houses in Elizabethan England.

All that STDs do is shine a spotlight on the range of human behavior, and
the prevalence of "sporting around" in all cultures, and at all levels of
society. That there are those who live a different kind of life is also
quite evident, but there are many kinds of sins, not the least of which
is deamonizing others.
