Robin,
PAF is GREAT!!! You can run it on an ancient 8088 or 286 for your mom.
Or, you can get some of the many, many PAF utilities available from a BBS
or from the Internet itself, and customize the heck out of it to suit
your needs.
A few of my favorites are some of the PAF Windows Viewers - one of which
prints out the most beautiful Pedigree charts and Family Group Sheets.
Another is PAF book - which converts my data into a "book" which I edit a
little in my word processor and print out for family members (a real big
hit mind you).
The best thing is that these utilities (over 200 of them now) go to your
existing data. Note: you type you info ito PAF only once - and you can
manipulate this info in so many ways.
Keep your eyes open for Mike St. Clair's name (don't have his URL's handy
at the moment) because he does a great review of these utilities.
The simplicity, performance, and versitility of PAF - makes it worth
every cent spent on it.
