I have found a good sprinkling of Anastasias in my Irish families. When
you consider that St. Anastasia was one of the saints mentioned in the
Litany of the Saints which was part of the Mass which the faithful heard
at least every Sunday, it would not be surprising to see it used,
especially in a family which either wanted something a bit different from
the usual (Mary, Sarah, Ellen, Ann, Margaret, Honorah, Elizabeth ad
infinitum) or who had already named girls for all the grandmothers and
aunts.
