I suggest you try them with Channing as the surname. The transcribers
were instructed to reverse the names if the enumerator had written
surname first, and maybe they did in this case. It was a format often
found in areas with a lot of Jewish/Italian/German/French families (like
the East End, or Soho) and it was ofetn quite difficult to decide how
much shopuld have been switched - Levy Solomon, Agosto Tomasso, Wolf
Israel etc
