Well, I've just been using the 1901 (it is up a day early)
My initial reaction is more positive than I expected. It was slow but not
unbearably slow. The payment system by credit card is a little tricky but,
again, not unreasonably so.
It is possible to glean a fair bit of information at no charge especially if
you give some thought to how the search is organised.
Not perfect but certainly not a shambles.
For 5 Pounds I solved a couple of mysteries and found a fair number of
additional siblings etc.
I think, in fairness, credit is due to folks like Barney who engaged the PRO
in constructive dialogue and effected some positive changes and to the PRO
for responding to such initiatives.
