Well, that's most interesting because until Dave mentioned clicking on the
header, I had never done that before to control my splitter bars. I simply
grab the bar, move it into position and "save layout." In fact I wasn't
even certain what he was talking about because I had never right clicked on
a column header in the Child area or List View until a couple of days ago.
I didn't even know that there were right click options for those column
headers. And I've futzed around with the splitter bars and have them sized
the way I want and they seem to stay that way.
I just did some tests. When I drag the splitter bar (forget using that
click on the header deal) and then do a "Save Layout," close the program and
reopen, the splitter bars are now located where I just moved them to. If I
move them by dragging and DO NOT click "save layout," when I reopen, they
have jumped back to their previous location. So whatever is broken for you,
isn't broken for me.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Clicking "Save Layout" activates it in
every instance, always saving whatever the current layout is. The only
way to save the splitter bar position in the Lists window is to follow
David's directions, however quirky they are.
