Cheri,
I don't have an answer, but;
1. Do you mean that they do sort correctly on the mother?
2. Have you accidentally clicked the alphabetical listing - which does not
really fit in with your examples, but may be worth a try.
3. How about removing the "abt"

Jean

Subject: [GENBOX] Sort Problem

I have a family that has 7 children with the following birth dates:

Frank - 1 Mar 1910
Jessie - abt 1906
Icelee - 14 Apr 1904
Luderay - 2 Mar 1905
Sylvia - abot 1901
Jewell - 5 Mar 1900
Marie - abt 1899

These children will simply not sort properly in the child area of the
Individual View for their father, even if I click on the Birth header to
sort them.

They sort:
Frank (1910)
Jessie (1906)
Icelee (1904)
Sylvia (1901)
Jewell (1900)
Marie (1899)
Luderay (1905)

When I click on the header to resort them, they sort in this manner

Luderay (1905)
Marie (1899)
Jewell (1900)
Sylvia (1901)
Icelee (1904)
Jessie (1906)
Frank (1910)

They should be sorting:

Marie (1899)
Jewell (1900)
Sylvia (1901)
Icelee (1904)
Luderay (1905)
Jessie (1906)
Frank (1910)

Does anyone have any idea why these children simply refuse to sort properly?
All kids have only one birth date, one set of parents, and no sort dates.
This makes no sense and it is making me nuts! Running all of the
maintenance operations does not resolve the problem. I've even given all of
the births sort dates and they still will not sort properly. I've removed
birth dates for some of the children, readded the date & tried sorting.
Zip, nada.
