CJ - I'm not sure what you want to do with changing the default folder. If
you are merely wanting to have your last open database reopen when you start
up GenBox, simply go to View > Preferences > Operation and put a tick mark
by "restore open database." My databases are always saved in C:\Program
Files\Genbox Family History\Data Files\ . . .

Yes, I know. The option, if and when available, should of course be
configurable for individual preference.
Speaking of configuration, I have a few new, hopefully less
controversial, questions :-)
1) Where the heck IS the default folders configuration option in GenBox?
After twenty minutes or so of poking around the help file and combing
the menus, the only thing I've found is the View-Preferences dialog, but
I can't do there what I want to do, which is to change the default
File-Open folder from My Documents (which I never use). How do I do that?
2) After importing a large GEDCOM file, I want to extract just my family
branches from it. Specifically, one of the people in the GEDCOM is a
direct-line ancestor of mine; I want to extract him, all his descendants
and their families.
3) It's probably just me, but Ctrl-F never seems to work. And when I
check the Edit menu, Find... (Ctrl-F) and Find Again (F3) always seem to
be greyed out. Why?

So far so good! But lots more questions on the way.
