I just tried printing a similar chart using another family history program
and CutePDF, with no problem.

Perhaps this should go on the list of bug fixes needed?

Hi Don,

I just tried printing a long thin chart to PDF and had the same problem.
Some of the outlines and shading were there, but no text, leaving the end
25% almost empty.

I wonder if this is a Genbox problem, or a CutePDF problem? Does anyone else
have the same problem using a different PDF printer?

Shelley

Shelley very kindly wrote, after I had raised the problem of
generating very large charts:

I get around it by printing to a PDF file. Genbox itself won't do this, but
there are a number of free PDF writers around (I use CutePDF). It's very
easy. You just pick the PDF writer from your printer list and the program
will create a pdf file instead of printing a hard copy. This has worked very
well for me without size or pixilation problems.

Right, so I downloaded CutePDF, and generated my nioce big chart
with Genbox, and worked out what size of paper it would need if
printed on one sheet.

So I then sent it to the printer, chose CutePDF as the printer,
clicked on Properties, and set the appopriate paper size and orientation.

Next move was to go back to Print Preview: FANTASTIC, there was mu
luvverly big chart on a single, long thin page. So, unwisely, I
rejoiced, and "printed" to CutePDF

Now being a cautious cove I then closed GenBox and opened Acrobat 7,
just to check the chart was actually there at the destination I'd
chosen. It was, but only about 75% of it, leaving a long white space
at one end of my elongated page.

AAAArrrrgggghhhh!

What do I do now??!!
