Subject: [GENBOX] Need for compacting
Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2007 20:29:22 -0000
I sometimes find on starting GenBox that it tells me it has detected an
error and compacting is required.
Also several times while running GenBox with other applications (usually
Wordperfect) my whole computer has frozen - no cursor control, no
CTRL-ALT-DEL - nothing, and the only way to get started again is a reset.
After this I get the same error message as above.
While this is not serious on its own, I also lose anything in any other
program which has not been saved, and it is impossible to predict when it
will happen.
Are these two occurrences related, and if so is there any way to stop it
happening? I do compact on a fairly regular basis but I would like to have
something a bit more systematic as the amount of compacting required seems
to vary greatly.
Request to Bill. Is it possible to build in automatic compacting when
required, or a message that it should be done?
