Without thinking of all of the ramifications, you might make a special event
called Family-Candidate or some such (I have a Marriage Candidate event for
'possible' marriages). Make the secondary link "other." This would allow
you a link between the individuals.

Subject: [GENBOX] How to represent tenative family links
How do folks handle this problem.
I have a child in one family who may be the head of another branch which is
currently unconnected to the main tree. I do not want to merge the two
individuals until I have more evidence but would like to create a link to
show the possible relationship on charts. I cannot really add another child
as it would appear like there was another child with the same name in that
family. I don't really want to break the spouse link on the stray branch as
it is a real marriage, it's just that two people might be one and the same.
Ideas?
Graham
