For the vast majority of my entries, dates can be inserted and sorted
correctly. However, there are a few exceptions, some of which are listed
below.

I've tried re-entering each of the dates but to no avail. The programme
still insists on sorting them in the order
Baptism:- 2 Aug 1840
Birth:- 1840
Birth Reg:- Sep 1840
I've tried deleting the events completely and re-entering them from
scratch, but it still insists on this order. There are no 'sort' dates
in the date fields.
I can get the correct sort by adding a sort date to the Birth event but
if I then delete the sort date, the order reverts to that shown above.

The "Show blank basic events" is ticked, the "Sort Basic events first"
is not ticked.
Comparing the Birth and Baptism "Event Types" shows no obvious cause.
I have another case where the Baptism date is 7 Jul 1772 but the birth
date of 1772 is sorted after the baptism date. (In this particular case,
there is also an alternative birth event dated 1776 but shouldn't the
first birth date sort before the baptism date?)
Yet another entry has a birth date of "about 1860" sorting after a
baptism date of 1 April 1860. I would have expected "about 1860" to sort
as though the date was 1860, hence my query about the how dates were sorted.
A few other examples also exist.
I'm confused...
Regards
Andrew
