Hello Wim,

> It does sort correctly in my test. Where and how are you seeing this?

In the specific example I quoted, I have a family comprising Uriah Hoofe
and Sarah Ann Wallett. Their first known child, Martha, was born in 1850
(according to the 1851 Census) and this has been entered as 1850 on the
Summary screen. As I don't know the date of their marriage, I have
assumed this was before 1850 and so have gone to the marriage event and
entered the date as "Before 1850" (without the quotes). Examining both
the Summary screen and the Family screen clearly shows the Childbirth
event before the marriage event with the dates "1850" and "Before 1850"
respectively and occurs on both the husband's and the wife's record.

Hmm, something strange here. Having quoted this example, I've quickly
checked the database for other examples (finding quite a few) and,
having returned to this one, find this example now correctly sorted.
Other examples are still incorrect though.

Not sure if this might be relevant but most of the information in the
database was transferred into it via Gedcom from TMG but the dates were
sorted correctly in TMG.

Another possibly relevant item is that the only examples I can find have
the place field filled in for the birth event but the marriage event has
no place information.

I'll try setting up a test database and see if I can reproduce the problem.

Regards

Andrew
