I'm NOT trying to enter "Madison;" I'm trying to enter just "Wisconsin."
This is not the usual goofiness. Earlier in the evening, it worked as
expected-- as I entered "W" some place that began "We" appeared, then as I
got to "Wis," Wisconsin appeared, I hit enter, and everything was fine.

Later, after compacting the database, the wierdness started, including
having "North America" appear out of the blue.
