Subject: Moving person from Father to Mother

In the Gedcom that I just imported, a base born child is shown with the
Mother as the Father. That is the Father has sex Female and there should be
no recorded father.

I have looked everywhere that I can think of and I can't find where to
delete the entry in the Father field and insert a new entry in the Mother
field. Finally I succeeded in getting the same person as both father and
mother - not desirable. I don't seem able to delete the only entry in the
father field.

How is it done?
