Hi Michel and Jim,

Michel: After entering the child name on the parents summary tab, it ask if I want to enter a new individual, said yes and all went as usual. Selecting the child and going to the birth event, I saw that he/she had no parents.

Jim: for some time I'm entering children like that, and I think I have no problem (I will check, hope it's all ok).
I suppose that some time ago I had entered children as you (Cheri) said, but, I think, that it creates 2 familys: father+unknown parent & unknown parent+mother.
Anyway, I will try this approach once again.

However, I think it should "work" entering in the summary tab, right ?

Thanks to both.

Pedro

Pedro,

This started a couple of builds ago. CheriC wrote a good approach for
entering children. Entering children from the Summary tab is not a good
practice anyway because you have to go back to the child and update sex,
sources, etc. The best way is to add the child as a new individual, then go
to the Birth Event and double click on the Father and Mother blanks. This
puts all the information for the child on the parent's Summary tabs.
