You can create a new event type for this if you wish, and if you frequently
know the precise dates of moves, have anecdotes about the moves, etc., this
might be the best route to go, as you can then set up a template for the
Event that will give text best suited to what you want. (Unfortunately, I
don't think you can associate two places with an event, so you would have to
pick just one, probably the place moved to, to associate with the event)
However, what I usually do is use Residency events to describe the period of
time (from 18xx to 19blah-blah) and place of each location in which the
person resided. The move is represented by the end of one Residency event,
and the beginning of the next. If I have additional data about the actual
move, I generally place it in the notes for one of the two Residency
events. I would typically place discussion of why they moved (if I have any)
in the notes of the first Residency event, and any discussion of events that
occurred during the move, route taken, etc. in the notes for the second
Residency event. Your mileage may vary.
