I have lots of unlinked individuals because I know due to the rarity of the
surname that they are all related, I just don't know how . . . yet. So I
assign them an RFN of (unconnected), and tick off the P and X boxes. I can
search for all of the unconnecteds if need be once I have found the
connections and wish to link or just review them.

Mark,
Just to free up the imagination, there is another way to search for people
with more than one set of parent records. On the Individual View, click the
Filter Button to the right of the Header. At the bottom of the Filter Dialog
is a field labeled P-fams. This is the number of Parent Families for an
individual, at least that is what it appears to stand for. Enter '>1' in
this field (without quotes), click outside of the field, then click Update.
It may take a while, but you will get a list of everyone with more than one
set of parents. You can then Set Filter and select the Parents Tab of the
first individual for review. Then you can advance through the subset,
reviewing the Parents Tab for appropriateness on each one.
This is something I find myself doing as part of routine maintenance.

Thank you for figuring it out. I had looked at all the tabs on the Search,
but hadn't thought to approach it the way you suggested.
It turns out that I didn't have any completed stranded individuals, but I
then used your method to look for multiple mothers/fathers where there
shouldn't be any. I turned up a couple of instances where a child (say
Jane) is linked to two sets of biological parents: John & Mary, John &
Unknown Mother. The John & Unknown Mother links were artifacts of my early
failed attempts to add parents after the child was already in the database,
and I have now deleted the superfluous ones. Thanks again.
