Personally I would like to see a display as optional. Or maybe the
possibility exists for another tab that would allow for this more expansive
display while retaining the current minimal display. As it is, with my
screen layout, I have the Citations window open all of the time and
compressed down to minimum size to see all buttons and check boxes. This
lets me see, at most, about 3 sources attached to any event/fact. If you
start adding all of these other stuffies, it will require a perpetual
expansion and minimization of this window. While the proposal *might* make
others happy, I think it would serve to frustrate my use.
Since my Citation window is open, I can (1) preview the sentence to see what
I have in the way of sources OR (2) I can look at the Citations window and
see all sources (including suppressed ones) and can move through the
suppressed ones. In the long run, it seems to me that the sources that are
selected for display and output are the more relevant ones anyway. The
ability to use the Annotation field or Lead text for commentary of a
comparative purpose and yet suppress output plus the Research Notes field
and the General Notes field (suppressed or not) where this can also be
accomplished just seems to make this option rather like overkill, IMHO.

Here's a wild idea that just flew out of a body orifice: In a perfect world,
you could see 'all' of the fields in question by generating the citation for
each cited source in the assertion, perhaps with a toggle button like we
currently have on the Formatting Tab. Toggling to from Source List to
Analysis might give you something like this:
-------------| (Toggle Button) (Drop-down List)

Would be nice if row height could adjust automatically to show text in Cited
Source or Cited Evidence, whichever was longer, or be limited to
user-defined limits like 3 lines of text. Also nice if column width still
adjustable with the text reflowing to the adjustments. If possible, RTF
formatting displayed in the Cited Source (italicized titles, etc.). For the
icing, the Support Level and Credibility Columns would be drop-down lists
that would permit changing the values from this tab. I agree with Debbie on
this one. Sometimes, during analysis, your opinion of the source will
change. <g>
Okay, time to stop dreaming and return to the fruitful discussion.
Bottom Line:
Additional Field - nice, but not ABSOLUTELY necessary.
Display - MUST be multiple at the same time to effect analysis.
