Bill -I'll second that. There is not a developer out there who is as
receptive to users' wishes as you are. And the lightening fast speed with
which you get items implemented is amazing. You truly put the user first.

I went with the following scheme, which is similar:

No target defined: gray
Target defined, but no searches: red rings on gray background
Target defined, with open searches: red rings on yellow background
Target defined, all searches completed: black rings on green background

This is implemented in version 3.1.11. Thanks to everyone for their input.
