Well, I may not know how to ask the questions properly, but here goes"
On the Source Citations - Assertion Tab
Is the assertion just the event or information that the citation is making
reference to?
On the Cited Sources Tab?
What goes in: - Where in source, Lead Text and what exactly does Annotation
refer to:
On the Excerpts Tab:
Do you put all the text from the Original Source and the highlight and mark
just the text that refers to that specific citation?
On the Names Tab:
Is 'name in source' for, say, everyone listed in the household if the source
is a Census?
I guess what I am getting at is, it would be nice to see a 'Screen Shot' of
each completed tab for both a Source and a Citation.
To make a long story short, an example of where to put what in the Source
Fields would be very helpful on the GenBox web site.
Thanks,
Joanna

I would love to be able to see examples of how people enter their source
data in GenBox. I am having a hard time figuring out what goes where.
Thanks,
Joanna

Subject: [GENBOX] Genbox FAQs
I am starting to give some thought to offering to maintain a FAQ section for
our Genbox community with tips, tricks, event & source templates, queries,
etc. I am a medium experienced genealogist (15+ years), computer
professional (20+) with some web page authoring experience, and obviously a
fairly new Genbox user.
I would apply for web space on rootsweb in the free web page section, and
create a hierarchy of topics. I have enough experience to create the pages,
but I would need to solicit for content from other active users. In other
words, I would be willing to compile, but my time is stretched much too thin
for me to be a solo author. To say nothing of there are many ideas brighter
than mine floating out there on the board.
Let me know what you think. If we are going to do this I would like to get
at least a few things posted quickly. I know that for some potential users
who may be evaluating Genbox in the near future (say after the conference
this weekend), that this type of community support can make a big
difference.
Alternatively, if someone out there has gotten a jump start on this topic
and is almost ready to announce the launch of such a site let me know. I
would be quite happy to slip away back into my mounds of file folders.
