Subject: [GENBOX] Age not always computed
Date: Fri, 26 Sep 2003 20:08:43 -0500
Help sez:
When a date is specified for the event and the birth date
of the individual is known, the age of the individual at the
time of the event will be automatically computed and shown
in the autogenerated text font style.
Not always. When the birth date of an individual is known and the date of an
event is specified *followed by a sort date in [brackets] to force the
correct display of multiple events that occurred chronologically on the same
date,* the age of the individual is not automatically computed and
displayed. The autogeneration and display routine must ignore dates
containing brackets. If an event occurred on 15 August 1829 and I give it a
date of "15 August 1829" [16 August 1829]" so it sorts after another event
that occurred earlier on 15 August, I'd still like to see the age calculated
for the second event. If I enter an event's date as "[1834]," I'd still like
to see the individual's age calculated. There must be a reason why it isn't.
Can anyone suggest one? (I realize the age can be manually inputted.)
