Hi Richard,
I too do most of the linking in either Family View or the Summary View. When
selecting a parent in Summary View for instance, after selecting the first
individual of a married couple, Genbox will ask you if you want to link to
the Family instead of linking to just one Individual. When adding a parent
on the Parentstab, Genbox will sometimes add an extra familyrecord with
"unknown parent". When possible though I link children to parentfamilies
instead of parents to children.
When linking a child on the Summary-tab, Genbox will create a (child)birth
event. So this tab is appropiate for entering traditional or standard
familylinks. On the Family View you have more control how you want to add
this individual to the family (christening or adoption instead of
birth-event for instance).
When you are working in Genbox and come at a point were you think "I thought
I had entered this but it doesn't show", my advice is to browse to another
record first and then go back. If that doesn't help, close the database and
reopen it again. Sometimes Genbox has a hard time updating all the linked
records (but it's getting better and better at this I believe).
