Hi Wim,
Thanks for your thoughts on 3.0.21. Yes, I have considered possible ways to
allow the gender pronouns to be changed during the life of an individual. I
think it would require separate handling of "sex" and "gender": For
genealogical purposes, it is the sex at birth that is most significant
because it determines the potential role in reproduction. Gender would be
how the individual views himself, and that can change over his/her lifetime.
The choice for gender would determine the pronouns used on reports. I think
the best approach would be to leave "sex" as a permanent attribute as it is
now, and implement "gender" as an attribute with a defining event linked.
The program would use sex for pronoun choice in the absence of any
gender-changing events.
