While the option I'm going to give won't apply to your Married names
question, I can give you a solution to the problem with your aunts names.

On the Identifiers tab of the Individuals screen give them the following:
Nickname: Then type in the name they went by, and if you want, you can
mark it primary. If you do mark it primary then it will show up on your
list view as:

Mary "Polly" Doe

Now, for reports, if you go to the "Style" tab, and in the box called
"Names", place a check mark in the "Use Nicknames" field. For these aunts,
their reports will then list their birth name the first time, and from then
on, uses their nickname.
