This is already fixed in version 3.0.17:

In the context of either godparent:

P = current godparent
S = other godparent
O = child

In the context of the child:

P = child
O = godfather
S = godmother

So, for all event tags where Secondary Type is set to Parents, the
principals for P and O reverse when the direction changes. This allows "P"
to always refer to the current principal in the templates.
